Success Story - Hangers Cleaners
Have you ever seen how good all of the purple guys look in our purple shirts? Well, a big reason that we look so good is that our shirts are cleaned and pressed by the fine folks at Hangers Cleaners (www.hangerskc.com). Hangers has about 16 locations around Kansas City, including 9 Hy-Vee stores. The Hangers Micare system uses liquid carbon dioxide as its cleaning solvent instead of chemicals which are used in traditional dry cleaning like perchloroethylene. This unique approach makes the patented Hangers technology an effective, environmentally safe replacement for traditional dry cleaning processes.
Hangers has been the official cleaner for the purple guys for the past two years and a few months back, they became one of our customers as well. We've always been very happy to be a Hangers client and on a Wednesday night last month, Joe Runyan, President of Hangers Cleaners, felt glad to be a Versent client as well.
Joe has purchased quite a few PCs from Dell and he had always paid the extra for the onsite installation and service plan. Like most folks, Joe was under the impression that this would mean that service for hardware issues would be performed by Dell since he had paid them for the service plan. The reality is that Dell subcontracts that work to local technicians and often to the lowest bidder. Now, we all know that paying more doesn't always mean getting more, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Joe had seen quite a bit of inconsistency in the service he received.
On the Wednesday night we mentioned earlier, one of the PCs at a Hangers location was not working and all of the customer, order and transaction records, including the point of sale activity are done on computer. So, if the computer isn't working, out comes the pen and paper and everything must be recorded by hand and entered into the computer later. Since Hangers uses a bar code system that integrates with a web-based software system, they can keep track of thousands and thousands of pieces of clothing without losing anything by tracking them in their software system on their computers. Keeping their computers up and running is important for taking care of their customers, so it's important to Joe.
Joe called Versent late on that Wednesday and purple guy Brian Stokes, who had put in another long day of great work helping other purple clients, said he’d come by on his way home and take care of Joe’s issues. Joe said that Brian “amazed” him that night. That “he did a great job, went above and beyond. He stopped by our 95th St. Hy-Vee location and got us up and running in no time. The Dell service guy that installed the computer didn’t do all the updates like he was supposed to and Brian got us straightened out.” Great job, Brian and thanks to Joe for choosing the purple guys to help him keep Kansas City looking good and the purple guys looking great!
